Hi, as the title says, can a mathematical science major(specifically at UCSB) help me work for the software company? I'm not sure if I can take a lot of electives on CS to be honest. Also, how are the pay for this major? Thank you!

It depends on your elective choices which jobs and careers you may be best prepared for. Taking at least the frosh/soph level CS courses will help you get started with CS foundational knowledge. Any junior/senior level courses in operating systems, algorithms, networks, databases, security/cryptography, and software engineering or project course or other courses with projects can help for software jobs if you get a chance to take them.
