SCHOOLS
University of Pennsylvania ED

Georgia Tech RA
Stanford EA/RD (not sure which admissions plan yet)
MIT EA
UChicago EA
Johns Hopkins RD
Princeton (probably i have no chance, lol but i'll try)

NOTE: so... let's just say i retake the sat's and raise that verbal score to ~750, and math to an 800 and bump that writing up a little more... i'm hoping for at least a 2320 :)

If you apply to Stanford EA, you can't apply to Penn, Chicago, or MIT ED/EA. Stanford is single-choice early action.

If you apply to Penn ED, I'm pretty sure you can apply to Chicago and MIT EA.

ohh ok, thanks!

SCHOOLS (revised)
University of Pennsylvania ED
Duke RD
WashU RD
Georgia Tech RD
Stanford RD
MIT EA
UChicago EA
Johns Hopkins RD
Princeton RD

How hot are you? This will play a big role (if you are really hot...safety) with MIT, they are always looking for hot girls :) But seriously, MIT is a low reach. Penn is a high match ED. You have the stats, strong test scores and grades. Your ECs are decent as well. Duke, Wash U, and UChi are low reaches. Stanford and Princeton are reaches with JHU being a match to high match. Georgia Tech is a safety. Good luck.

Please chance me at:

oh yeah... i won a ton of spanish and science awards.
ranked in the top 15 in spanish nationwide and top 5 in the state. received the highest honors in speaking forums and writing competitions.

science olympiad tournaments: top 2 for entomology in the state, top 5 for ecology in the state... top awards also for both entomlogy and ecology in regional and school invitationals.

i'm not quite sure that i would call myself "hot." (i don't want to be too narcissist/egotistical) i'd say i'm above average, lol.

Adcoms are human. Being in pageants can probably be hard work and some will recognize that. If you get women from top academic colleges they might gag. Who knows?

hmm... you have a point.

regardless, i'm not in those kind of pageants with creepy five year olds, doused in makeup and wearing inappropriate clothes. i'm in a--if i should say--more liberal pageant.

i'm hoping that they recognize that the pageant i competed in was based on not beauty, but developing confidence and poise for young women so that they can succeed in society.

Honestly I'd say in everywhere.

I don't think I've seen a more perfect application. The fact you were able to do all of this is amazing!!!! I agree that you're in everywhere. Ivies really look at ECs which you have a lot.

i really like your chances. great scores, well rounded, lots of leadership- i honestly think you're in. the pageants will help you stand out a lot also. i am so jealous of you.

You're extremely well rounded and seem to excel in all areas. I don't see how the pageants will hurt you; they'll only help :) You have great chances at all the schools you've listed. However, just to be on the safe side, you may want at least 1 more safety school since the top schools are sometimes a bit unpredictable and arbitrary. Make sure you write good essays and get nice recs and you're in the top of the application pool. Good luck!

Chance me back? (my stats are not so amazing)

bump bump bump

In everywhere (50/50 at Princeton and Stanford), well-rounded pageant girls stand out.

You might want to talk to divagurl1130 who attends Dartmouth. See her post in the thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=256537&highlight=miss+new+hampshire
