First of all, congrats to everyone who got accepted. I've been on CC (and lurking on the JHU threads) for a while, and I definitely do remember reading some of your guys' chance threads and seeing people strongly suggest not to apply since Johns Hopkins was a high reach. After browsing through some of the accepted people, I was amazed that those people had the determination to apply even though a lot of people said it was a high reach. Job well done.

Secondly, I am applying to JHU RD (for Chem E), and I was wondering if any current student or recently accepted student had the time to glance over my supplement. I would really appreciate some feedback.

You risk being copied by doing that. It’s probably wise to take it to your high school counselor or one of your favorite teachers who wrote your recs.

I am a parent but (due to my job) I help other students with essays (not in education; I just employ a lot of seniors). I would love to read and provide feedback.

I could read good college essays all day long!

I was accepted too, so send me over.
I also agree with others that you should really show it to your rec teachers and your fav. English teachers just to see how they like it.

Jonika: Yeah, I could read them sometime during new years or Christmas. I’m studious all other days. The holidays are friggin infectious, no? I finally got around to finishing Wong’s essay critiques today. Sorry for the wait, btw.

can a recent accepted student PM me their 2nd supplement (About the extra curricular activities at Hopkins) so that I get an idea of whether or not i’m on the right track? I hope anyone doesnt mind. i can’t really copy you guys anyway since its already in hopkins’ database… thanks!
