I wanted to take some AP exams at my school, which offers the classes but I haven't taken them, so I contacted my school's AP coordinator and spoke with him about this, he said he would take care of everything, but apparently after we spoke he met with my principal and he informed him about this, they checked my record and found that I don't have a good history on some of the subjects, and now my principal says that he won't allow me to take the tests, so my question is if he has the authority to do this.

TL;DR: Want to take AP exams at my school, I have not taken the classes, haven't gotten outstanding grades in the regular and honors classes, my grade's principal refuses to let me take the tests.

Similar thing happened to me. I self-studied for the AP Bio exam without taking the course in my high school. However, my school said that I was not allowed to take the test despite my stellar grades in my other classes. I find that completely unfair.

He probably does because the school proctors the exam so if h won’t allow any teacher or worker to proctor your exam then you can’t take it. I could be totally wrong but that’s the only thing that makes sense to me

I’m sure the deadline to register for AP exams has passed by now. So maybe that’s why they refused. If that’s not the case, you can take your exams at any other school as long as you pay for them and have the time to take them there. Your school can not stop you if you can find another school.
