So I got accepted at UCLA as an Environmental Science major but I want to switch to biochemistry. It doesn’t say the major is impacted so is it possible to switch into after I finish the prereqs.(should take two quarters) Does anyone know of successful transfers switching majors at UCLA.
All I know is that biochemistry is an extremely difficult major in UCLA with a lot of pre-meds.
My daughter who were admitted to this major (as a Regents scholar) chickened out and swhiched over to (molocular) biology!
Yes - transfers to the physical sciences department should be allowed (unlike transfers to the life sciences department) but I spoke to many recent alumni who said you can change your major to anything you want, as long as you take all the prerequisite courses before requesting to change the major. No one will be paying attention to what classes you register for, regardless of what major you are, so you can try your best to get the classes you need and petition to change your major.
