I was accepted to UP. However, senioritis is setting in. Would they revoke my acceptance if my grades decline?

Unless you're going to Schreyer Honors College, PSU doesn't require a mid-year grade report. Your admission bounds you to a type of contract, and in it, you agree to Penn State that you will maintain grades in school and graduate from High School, or your admissions can be revoked. Your guidance counselor will confirm to PSU that you've successfully graduated.

I wouldn't let my grades get low, though, and certainly not lower than your usual "grade trend!" Just hang on for another few months.

Whoa -- z5sharp, where did you hear that the SHC requires a mid-year grade report? Is this to be sent before February 15, or is it meant to be sent from those already accepted (after February 15)? This is the first I have heard about it. Many thanks.

yeah ask yourself-Do I want to stop working in school for a few months and possible have to settle for a CC? or Do I wanna jus get through the last few months of my twelve years of education to get to the place I worked hard for?

Hard choice ;)

setzwxman: Sorry, I made a mistake. I just looked over the Schreyer application and see nothing about that. Perhaps I'm thinking of another university. :)

lol, it's cool/np.

I certainly F&#$ing Hope not.

I just took a killer Math test. Before it I had a %64. and I'm now worried that I might have Failed the test,, thus Failing for this 6 weeks.

I got like an 75 the first six weeks and a 79 the second six weeks in Honors Calculus. If I get like a 63 this six weeks then continue to get C's for the other 3 six weeks of the season.... You don't think they'd kick me out for THAT.

I mean I technically didn't even HAVE to take that class, since I had all the requirements for an Undecided application already.

Anyways,,, this six weeks I have like the worst grades I've ever Had.

But the next Half of the Year I have an easy hon Biology class instead of a very difficult hon chemistry. AND my other grades should also come back to normal as well. I just F-ed up one 50 pt math test earlier in the six weeks and my whole Passing vs failing this six week is riding on this test that I finished today.

do you think they's accept a QUA like going from 90 to 93 to """86""" or something like that.

Personally I try not to let it bother me. Like I am worried that It would get revoked,,, but whenever I think of that I always tell myself that,, "heck if they don't accept me, I'll just take a gap year and work for the peace corps or something like that"""

That's what I would probably do.. I didn't even apply to any other colleges, so I wouldn't really have anywhere to go. Maybe I could get a good deal on a like round the world travel package or something. and just spend next year visiting Europe by myself and seeing the world. That would probably be cooler then actually going to College.

I'm pretty sure they won't reject me for faling a class one that I didn't even have to take,, but if they do I guess I have a sort of plan. I definetly don't want to go to a branch campus. I'd rather take a year off.

even if you get F's , what happens is the college will write you a letter saying their disappointed, and to explain circumstances.

at a college like pennstate that has among the highest undergrad populations in the country, i highly highly doubt they care about your final average... i mean if your grades DRASTICALLY DROP (failing every class) then your bound to get the letter mentioned above.

That's good,, I will probably only fail that one class Once out of the six weeks. And I still might pass yet.

joey sweets im in the same boat. good point stone cold.

I did terribly this semester. D- in AP Calculus (which I dropped for this semester), with 2 A's and 3 B's. This is a notable decline in my performance, as before, I'd never received even a C+, much less a D-.

Anyway, I called the admissions office and explained my situation. They took my information and looked me up on the database; they told me I was in no danger. This leads me to believe that situations of rescinding admission are largely based upon the factors you were admitted upon in the first place. (i.e. If you were a borderline candidate upon admission, maintaining good grades is more important for you, than say, someone with statistics in the upper 75th percentile.)

But then, that's just a theory. :/

in a booklet it sent with the acceptance letter, it says that their offer of admission is pending upon graduating high school. it says nothing about grades. Other colleges ive gotten there has been some line about how the acceptance is relied upon continuing getting good grades. but penn state just says that it will ask your guidance counselor for proof of graduation.

so yeah, i doubt ur grades matter at all anymore, just make sure you graduate

Haha ok.. I'll try and maintain C's in the classes that I don't care about, just to be safe.

That's the spirit! Just don't slack in college!
