ANY advice would be wonderful right now!

All I would like to know is ACT/SAT, legacy or no, and GPA.

ANY advice would be wonderful right now!

SATs: 2300 (m:790,wr:760,cr:750)
GPA: 5.135 weighted where A = 5.0 in honors/AP, A+ = 5.5 in honors/AP
Average public school in NJ
Non-Legacy, Non-Recruited Athlete,etc.

I didn’t look to see if there is a decision thread for this past admitted class, but if there is, browse that to get a sense for how things look.

From my son’s high school, the val and sal are both going to ND, neither is a legacy – val is unweighted 4.0 with a 35 ACT, and sal is a 3.95 unweighted, I don’t know that student’s testing specifically but my son tells me it is a 34 or above. Both of those students were in the most rigorous curriculum offered at the school.

The stats of admitted students at ND are overwhelming to me, as a parent. As tantalizing as the idea is that seeing a range of acceptance stats will verify your chances, there are just too many variables to make it that simple. Bottom line, top stats matter at ND, as with any other top 20 university.

Good luck, and work on identifying a true safety that you can afford and would be happy to attend if the dice don’t roll your way at ND or another school.

GPA:4.38/4 (5.0=A in AP and 4.8=A in honors)
Pretty average public school in NJ, 15th percentile within class (all the other kids who took AP courses were in a similar situation…context is everything with GPA)
SAT: 2280 (720 CR, 760 M, 800 W)
Non-Legacy, Non-Athlete, Non-Everything

And I was Early Action, by the way.

As a tour guide who’s done a lot of work with admissions…stats aren’t exactly everything. With ND being a Top 20 school, the above post is right on in a lot of areas. It’s almost like a high jump bar…just a matter of clearing it. Good stats are necessary, but there are not set numbers for anything. Just make sure that what you’re putting out there is the best you have to offer, and that it’s you. That’s all you can do on your end. I’ll end that broken record-esque advice there.

ACT: 35
GPA: 3.66 unweighted (lol)
Non-legacy

Good luck!
