I'm going to be attending college in Michigan, and i qualify for the Michigan Indian tuition waiver. However, i would also like to apply for an ROTC scholarship because i feel i am academically qualified and because my father was in the Air Force for 20+ years.

So, if i don't need scholarship money for college tuition, does that extra money carry over to other costs, i.e room and board/books/anything else? or would it be a waste of time to apply for AFROTC in my situation.

I apologize if this is common knowledge and is answered often.
