This is for all students considering premed :) I know it's recommended to get involved...but, I don't want to get into an activity if it is going to help me gain skills/help others in the community.

I've been to quite a few workshops about the medical field, had a lot of flyers for premed associations handed to me at activities fair, and looked at descriptions of the groups online, but I have no idea which ones I should get involved in...I've talked to a couple older students and asked them what they're involved in and they say some activities are better than others.

Of the following premed groups, which have you participated in and would you recommend it or not? These are just a few I've heard of, feel free to add one if you have had a good experience.

Why? Some examples: good hands-on experience, patient interaction, flexible with your schedule, good mentors, good recommendations, felt like you made a difference in the community?
