Can any current UCF students help?

Just wanted to know about jobs down there, at the UCF campus. Typically, how hard is it to get a job, as a freshmen, on campus? Not so much a work study job, though that would come in handy. I'm actually interested in a job that does pay, and does not simply deduct from tuition, dorm, etc. Being out of state, and having a job sense freshmen year, I'm going to need a job down there. I don't want to be simply living off my debit card to pay for things I'm going to need. Any help would be great:)

Also, I will be there for the summer term, moving on into the fall. Is it easier there a bigger variety of jobs on campus, during the summer? Thank you!:)

Where the jobs would be posted (can probably only be accessed from an IP address on campus) - [Student Financial Assistance, UCF : Official Web site of the Office of Student Financial Assistance at the University of Central Florida.](http://finaid.ucf.edu/default.htm)

Thank you! This is just what I need:)

If you are willing to work very hard especially during the weekends, summer and holidays, and have a friendly and polite disposition and are mobile, try-out as a cast member at one of the major parks.

I’ve always considered that thought:) I am very, very friendly and polite, and have been told I’m a people person. Even though I don’t have a particular love for children, I do work very well with them. However, I may use that as a last resort. I understand working weekends-that’s expected, I work every weekend since my freshmen year of high school. I do feel that, I would work on the weekends, but not all the days. Working every day on the weekend, from morning to afternoon, would somewhat shade over my college experiance. I’ve already delt with it, and I’ve lost a lot of contact with friends, due to the fact that they know I work EVERY day, over the weekend. However, working holidays may not work so well. Since I’m out of state, holidays are the only time to see my family and friends, as well as summers. I would consider though, thank you for the thought:)

Yea, the parks is one of the options. The other thing they said today is that if you’re going to be there for summer, its easier to get jobs then, so since you are, try to get a job at one of the on campus restaurants if you would like during the summer and keep it throughout the year.

Another good option is to referee the intramural sports. Seems fun (i already do it), its on campus, you’ll spend your time with fellow students, and you get payed to exercise

Oh, maybe I could ref for soccer. I’ve been playing it for 10 years:) Perfect, thank you so much! I would also do fine in a food setting, too. I’ve had my pizza job for over three years now.

I’ve been reffing soccer for over a year at a very high level, so the opportunities are endless. Especially for a women since there’s not that many women referees and most referees in the women professional league are women.

I don’t know how much they pay for intramurals (probably not much) but for doing little kid games at travel leagues here I get payed on average around $25/hour

I did a bit of it here, too:) I enjoyed it, except I accidently got in someone’s way one time, and they tripped over my feet.
Whoops.
Either way, I think I should be able to find a job down there. I would feel comfortable in either direction. I love sports (Soccer, football…even if I can’t catch a football) but am also very comfortable around people, since I got this pizza job. I feel a little better now, knowing I should be able to find a job. That was a big worry of mine, considering I pay for everything on my own.

Don’t worry. Worst comes to worst work at Disney/Universal like everybody else, which is not that bad since its probably a cool place to work at.

Now I can’t wait to get down there:)
Thank god I’m escaping these blizzards!

I cant wait to go back up either. I woke up at 5:30 AM to leave to Orlando, got there at 10, and had to leave by 3 since I had a referee meeting down here.

I also saw this place, Winterpark, which seems like a really nice place to hang out. Its right by where Rollins College is.

Where I live is really nice, but college life just seems so nice, and UCF is the perfect place for it.

Well, I’m just excited to escape from here, for more…complex reasons.

Reffing is great, I did it for two years, but you do have to take the certification/recertification exams to stay legit

That’s very true, and I’m pretty sure mine won’t apply down there. I might just stick with working around food and such, I’m used to:)

Well…recertification isnt a big deal. You have a 3 hour class and a test which you need a 75% in. Its not that tough.

But for UCF reffing, you don’t need the legit course.

Oh, good:) I do miss soccer, as well. After I did travel, and did varsity soccer at the school, things got complicated. Also, it was very, very expensive, similar to when I did all star cheerleading. I ended up having to stop going sports for health reasons, but it would be nice to ref soccer:)
