SAT: 2010
CR: 710
M:660
WR:640 (I got a 690 on another SAT, but my scores for the other two sections were worse, so I'm not sure if I should send both or not)
ACT:30 (Eng:32, Math:27, Reading:32, Science 30, CEW: 30) I'm not sure if I should send my ACT, SAT, or both.
GPA: 92.02 Weighted (my school doesn't do unweighted)
Awards: AP Scholar with Distinction (I got 4s on all my AP tests: APUSH, Psych, World Hist, Java, English Lang. I'm also taking AP Bio, Pol-Sci, and MicroEco this year), National Honor Society for 2 years
The rest of my classes are regents classes.
Extra Curricular: Co-Captain in the founding year of robotics club (11th grade). Competed in FTC competition in NYC. This year, I am a Captain (our school has 2 teams now, had one the first year). Various community service activities, nothing too special.
As for my essay, I am very happy with it and I think it is a very good essay, but then again I am quite biased.

I'm not really sure what schools I should make my reach schools. Right now I have Rice (only b/c they waived the application fee), UW-Madison, and Georgia Tech. Based on my stats, are these good reach schools, or should I look at different ones for a better reach or more realistic reach? I plan on majoring in MechE or AeroE.

Is your state of residency New York? What are your cost constraints and financial aid situation? Do you have safeties?

Once you have safeties which you will be admitted to for sure and which you can afford for sure, you need only look for other schools which are more desirable than your safeties. If your clear top choice is a safety, then you need not add any more schools to your list.

Two things:

First, unless your school requires that you have to send all scores, or that they only consider your highest sitting score, you can use score choice to send your best scores from each test date.

You may find this link useful: http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat-score-use-practices-list.pdf

Second: As for reaches, what you have now is fine. I would argue that Wisconsin might be a match. idk about georgia tech.

Some Possible Reaches for you:
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)
University of Michigan
Cornell

You cannot send your “best scores from each date”. Read how it works: http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/sat-score-choice-juniors-presentation-pdf.pdf If the school superscores you should send both.

GTech will be very expensive OOS (UMich even more so). At least UWM is relatively affordable OOS.
