How exactly does transferring in one year work? Following the previous question, If I were at an institution and desired to transfer in a year with courses/subjects unrelated to the subject(s) I chose as “Intended major” on the common app , what impact would this have on my chances to get accepted as a transfer student?
Last question: (Assuming I am still attempting to transfer after a year) : Would doing courses that would transfer the second semester of freshman year be considered by schools or even matter at that point?
There is no difference except that your college record will be limited to one semester of grades and the university will probably ask you for High School transcripts and ACT/SAT scores. This might not happen if you have three semesters under your belt.
If you are early enough in your time at the first university, no one can expect you to be taking more than general education courses so the specific courses you have taken are probably not relevant unless you are transferring to a major that requires things like Calculus and science courses in your first year.
You would always want to transfer as many courses as possible so you don’t lose time on your path to a degree.
