can anyone answer my question?

should i type or hand write my first choice letter, its 650 words.

oh and does anyone want to read it and give me feedback, because it would great
thanks

I just emailed (wont say which school), my interviewer and football coachh and they both forwarded it to the Dean of admission. Soi doesnt matter i think.

pm me i want to read it

how do u write and send a first choice letter?? I would really like to

here ill send you mine
its much easier to write if you have visited the school

thanks!
yeah well thats not going to happen… :(

Hand write it if your writing is legible. I think that makes it a bit more personable.

it would be 6 pages hand written also my hand writing is sub-par at best

You have already applied to and have had interviews and you have met with and are being recruited by the coaches, right? I think six pages is a bit much. Maybe you should try to get the message across in a more concise fashion. And if your handwriting is poor, then definitely type it.

i already have it typed and its 1 3/4 in word in 12pt times new roman.
but if i hand write it will be super long i very large handwriting.

would you as a parent like to take a look at it ? The feedback would much appreciated

do you have to write a 1st choice letter? does it give you a huge advantage? why?

it does if you are set on going to a certain school. its like like applying to college early decision. its gives a big advantage but you need to be sure that you want to go to that 100%

I have 3 favorites. So should you write one to all of them or is that "cheating’?

you can do that its only if you have one clear number 1 choice if you did that you would get accepted to none even safeties as the admission offices talk to each other, it would be considered the most disrespectful thing you could do other than accepting another BS over the one that you wrote your 1st choice letter to

If have a clear first choice but if one school gives me more FA over my prefrence I’ll probably have to take it. I guess this means I can’t write a first choice? Are these letters important, I hadnt heard about them before?

@BlueRaven: I say still write one. Maybe it’s the thing that helps them to decided to give you more FA, if you know what I mean. If you write a First Choice letter, and don’t end up going to that school because they don’t offer you as much FA as another school did and you need as much FA as you can get, then I don’t see what’s shameful about that. You want a better education, and if that means upsetting an admissions officer, than whatever, because if you were accepted to the school and are going there in the fall, an admissions officer can’t stop you.

IMO. Commitment letter = great idea (if you can actually commit). Six pages = bad idea. Too long, a bit desperate, won’t be read etc. Your note, to have the right impact, should express your enthusiasm and commitment, include a very brief “why” statement (not more than a few lines), and be a single page, able to be read in less than 30 seconds.

This is the hardest time for you kids as you consider any possible way to push the ball over the line at your first choice school. Any interactions at this point are not likely to influence the outcome unless you fall into the category of:

a. School thinks it’s your safety or a lower-rung choice and decides not to admit, but your letter convinces them otherwise.

b. Admission’s officer is on the fence about you and your letter nudges them into recommending acceptance. Small chance of this, but still a chance.

i didnt even make it official, i just sent them to the football coach nd he just forwareded it

This is a great idea. I havent heard about 1st choice letter before so please pm me for comments.

do you think you need to be recruited by a coach to send a letter?
Because I haven’t really talked to coaches about the sports I play, but this school is my number 1 choice…

no you dont its just saying that the school is your 1st choice and if you gain acceptance you will go 100%
