Can anyone attending UCLA post their high school stats?

I want to know what stats I need to gain admission to UCLA. Can anyone post their high school stats (gpa, rank, ECs, SATs, etc..)?

search for old thread titles:

decisions
acceptances
rejections

I can't find any. mme-lin can you post some links?

HS STATS

SAT: Never took them...I don't even know what they look like!
ECs: Research on substance consumption.
GPA: ~2.5 (maybe less)
Rank: ~bottom 10%

There you have it! Or did you mean HS-->UCLA admissions? That doesn't apply to me, but you didn't specify.

Oh I am sorry. I am guessing you were a transfer?

What did you type to search o_O. I just typed "chance" and I found one huge thread and one chance thread. That would have given you a better idea of the stats of HS students.

SAT: 1440
GPA: 3.8 unweighted
160 hours as research assistant UCLA Med Center
4 years Varsity Tennis
Back to back school table tennis champ(and I'm not asian!)
Multiple Scholar Athlete awards/GSE awards/CSF Sealbearer/Honor Roll/multiple clubs

etcetera, etcetera

How does this help again? Just do your best and go to the best school you get accepted to, there's no point in being disappointed wherever you go.

Check my stats profile, it has some basic info.

mine's in my stats profile too, but definately a lot worse than everyone elses' around here... it can work like a ummm motivition boost for people believing they can get lucky

Ditto.

If you're dead set on UCLA and don't get accepted than just go through the transfer route.

Anyway, since I'm such a nice person and all here's the link to [thread=318967]Class of '11[/thread] thread, which contains stats.

Gunbatte!

Search with the UCLA sub-forum.

grasspuppet thanks. That link was just what I needed

thanks to everyone who posted.

haha this is always fun

SAT: 1900! Yes, that's right a 1900.
Sat II's: All were between 500 and 650. Not even joking, I think I might even be given myself more credit than I deserve.
ACT: Best composite was 30
EC's: Color Guard (4 years) on Student Leadership Staff my soph year and Captain my senior year. Slam Poetry Club President my soph year, vice president my senior year. Key club one year. Track one year. Singing in 2 of the 3 audition based choirs at my school for 3 years.
Volunteer: Sunday Friends a couple Sundays for 6 hours each time my soph year. 10 hours a week at a local shelter from Sept of my senior year until May.
Work: 15 hours week at a law office as a clerk starting Dec 2005 and ending when I moved here.
GPA: 3.8 unweighted. Fun facys, I had 3 C's as a freshman. I had straight B's the most important semester (junior second semester) because I was hospitalized (which I failed to mention so for all they know I just went from the one B to straight B's).

If I remember correctly I wrote about color guard, my love of foreign languages (took spanish through span 5 ap, french 2, am now taking thai, plan on taking chinese the last two years of undergrad, and then arabic in grad school. maybe later in life i'll learn ancient egyptian just for fun), and the death of my father and how that affected me and shaped me as a person.

You might find it more helpful to just go to the UCLA admission website, where complete statistical information is available by class. I wouldn't rely on the small sample from CC, where many posters have stats far above the norm.

^ for real..reading some of those stats make me feel out of place

oh okay thanks.

does PE count towards unweighted/weighted gpa?

no

10char

thanks

another quick question, does UCLA look at first semester senior year grades?

You don't send a copy of your senior grades until after admissions have made their decision.

will bother taking a look at your first semester grades if they already rejected you?
