Can anyone chance this junior please?

Hey guys, thanks for taking the time to read over my little manifesto here.

Intended major: Not sure yet, but I’m probably going for Electrical Engineering

CSU GPA: 3.69.

High School: In-state, VERY competitive, and one of the top 10 feeder schools to both UCSD and UCI.

SAT: 1600 (M+CR) / 2350 (all in one sitting)

SAT IIs- World History: 800, Math 2: 710, Bio E: 800

AP: Psych, English Lang and Comp, Comp Sci, World History, US History- All 5s, (self studied Psych and World History)

I worked hard on my personal statements, my AP English Lang teacher liked it, as did my AP English Lit teacher, and my Honors Chem teacher (who has an MFA in some Literature).

Senior Year Schedule:
AP Environmental Science
AP English Lit
AP Art History
AP Calc AB/Calc C Honors
AP Gov
Spanish 3

ECs and Achievements:

Captain of Quiz Bowl Team (I share the title with another individual, but I do most of the organization of tournaments that we host or attend.)

Constitution Team co-captain

Vice President of the Young Republicans

I regularly volunteer at a nonprofit for veterans of the Iraq War, approx. 350 hours so far

FBLA Treasurer

Your GPA is a hair low for Cal Poly, but your SAT scores are incredible, congrats on doing so well there. Your course rigor is significant.

Your personal statement won’t be a factor, nor will your leadership positions. Your volunteer hours will be considered but are a very small part of the equation.

Check out the profile of admitted students for last year, the average GPA for admitted students in engineering was 3.97. You’ve got a good chance, but make sure you have another school you’d like to attend as a backup.

Almost In…!

You should try and take AP Physics next year. That is probably the single-most related class to EE. Have you taken honors physics yet? If so, did you get good grades in it? I have a feeling that Cal Poly takes a bigger look at grades from classes related to the intended major, and doesn’t factor in as much grades from unrelated classes to engineering (assuming that is what is applied for) like foreign languages.

Your credentials are terrible bro. A 3.7 and a 1600 (m + cr)??? You’ll need AT LEAST a 2000/1600…I got in with a 3.2 and a 1340 (m+cr) with no extra curriculars (excluding sports) in the computer science major so you def. won’t be accepted unless you boost those grades.
