Can anyone explain ED to Lehigh for me?

Well I think this applies to most Early Decisions so feel free to answer if you can help:

After receiving not enough scholarship money to go to the schools I thought I was going to go to, Temple (2500), Ursinus (none), I decided I might as well commit to Lehigh since its the only viable option I have left, hence ED II

However it states in the Early Decision agreement, that the student may only reject acceptance if the student is not offered an award that makes attendance possible through financial aid. Now who or what determines if the financial aid package makes attendance possible. For example they may have met my full need but have $20,000 in loans each year which is something I do not wish to do, therefore can I reject Lehigh or since I did Early Decision and have me full financial aid they expect me to attend? Also what happens if you truly do not want to attend Lehigh after submitting your application, is there any way to get out of it, just out of curiosity?

Lehigh is definitely my top choice now, just wondering about Financial Aid

Also, Lehigh University is big on demonstrated interest, however I never did a campus visit, group session, etc. and I only live an hour away, would applying Early Decision be enough to show demonstrated interest

If you are concern about fiinancial aid, ED is not a good option. By reading your post, I am also not sure Lehigh is truely your first choice school. Applying RD is a better option, in my humble opinion, and you do not need to worry about what to do after you get accepted.

Agreed with Christian2.

Why can’t you just apply to Lehigh RD? Assuming you have some financial safeties too.

The main reasons for applying Lehigh ED is to get in, I am borderline in getting accepted I think, and need that ED factor to help me get admitted

I already submitted my ED agreement so it might be a bit too late?

Wait, so is it the university that determines whether or not the Financial Aid package makes the school affordable? I might then have a problem?
