Hello, i'm writing this for my sister who is a rising senior.
She wants to study biology and eventually become a vet. She really wants to go to a school in urban, city area and is also interested in LACs. Financial aid is important as well.

Her stats are:
GPA : 91/100 I'm not sure how that is for 4.0 scale...
ACT: 28 but she's taking one more in october.
SAT2: Math2c 680, Bio 650.. but shes retaking them again as well...

She wants to apply:
Fordham
Boston U
Virginia Tech
UIUC
Minnesota
SUNY Stony Brook
SUNY Hunter College

Any inputs for the list will be appreciated.
Thank you.

If financial aid is important it doesn’t make a lot of sense to apply to OOS publics. They probably will not provide enough aid to make them affordable and you need to factor in travel expenses.

If your sister wants to be a vet she should look closely at your in-state options to save money for vet school.

How about University of Miami. I know they are pretty good for getting people into med school.

Emory in Atlanta might be good

fordham seems perfect

I assume you are from NY. I would consider some of the other SUNY’s and maybe Hofstra in addition to Fordham.

I know 2 students that are currently going to Virginia Tech for the veternarian program. They tell me that they think that VT is second only to Cornell. I don’t know if that is true but they love the school. I know one of them received a partial merit scholarship.

Is your state of residence New York?

we have been living in Virginia, but my sister moved to NY her junior year. So i think shes going to be NY resident…
