Can anyone name some good art schools that offer programs in Animation

I already found one that I like called the Academy of Art University in San Francisco

It is not an art school, but the University of Southern California offers a top notch animation major in the School of Cinematic Arts. It is housed in the new $25 million dollar addition to the SCA.

The major is Animation and Digital Arts.

USC is a private university, but SC practices need blind admission. Over 60% of the freshmen class received need based financial assistance.

RISD (Providence, RI) [Film/Animation/Video | Academic Departments | RISD](Film / Animation / Video Department | RISD)

SCAD (Savannah, GA) [SCAD > Programs > Animation > About](Animation Degrees | On-Campus Animation Degrees | SCAD.edu)

Ringling (Sarasota, FL) [Ringling College: Computer Animation Major](http://www.ringling.edu/CA.36.0.html)

Cal Arts. More graduates hired by Disney and Pixar than any other animation program.

Thanks that was a big help in my search

Every school has a different listing for their animation program. Chapman University has it under Digital Arts in their film school. Chapman’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts is among the world’s best. Best of luck in your search!

Besides maybe one or two schools in california Ringling is The Best, just glance at their alumni credits and they’ve had people in just about every animated movie ever made, usually companies hire people who have worked their way up in the game but for Ringling they recruit straight out of college because they are taught so thoroughly and professionally there.
But because their program is so popular they’re deadline for Animation is January 15th, and it’s pretty competitive
