Can anyone share Bradley University experience?

Sorry for the duplicate post but not much action in the school section. Anyway, I would be really curious to hear any experiences and/or impressions of Bradley University in Peoria, IL. S will start there in the Fall and just wondering what might be in store for him. He's an honors student who loves to be involved.

I am a Bradley grad (although many years ago!) and I loved it. I came in as a transfer student and found people to be extremely friendly. Th social life did tend to revolve a lot (but not entirely) around the greek system, but the greek community was pretty welcoming. All of my classes were taught by professors (no TA’s) so we were able to get to know them quite well. I felt as if I got a good education there.

I don’t know how helpful this is to you as it has been a long time, but I could not pass up a question about Bradley.

Good luck to your S. I hope he enjoys it as much as I did.

Daughter graduated from Bradley in 2009 as an English major. She did the honors program and found it a great way to meet students with similar (intellectual) interests.

Most of her professors went out of their way to provide guidance. Honors program let her design her own independent study. When she had class conflicts her senior year, her adviser spoke with professors and meeting time for a required class was actually changed to accommodate her needs (and those of a few others.)

D had been doing an Americorp program and is soon starting graduate school. Professors have been helpful with writing recommendations even a year after graduation.
Send a PM to me if you want any further information.

Thanks for the great info Marlene and FallGirl. Any other Bradley perspectives out there?

It seems to be well enough regarded in the Chicago area; I don’t sense it has much broad awareness beyond that, but if that’s enough for a student, why not?

Bradley is very highly ranked as a regional university.
