My health seems to be deteriorating by the amount of time I am spending searching for the correct answer. How exactly does this work?

As a senior in high school, I am considering a couple UCs, however, due to some personal concerns, I am also looking into community colleges, and the cc-transfer aspect has really caught my attention. It has recently been brought to me that you can technically start community college as a sophomore as long as you have the required amount of credits, thus lowering the amount of years you spend in college to three.

Theoretically if this is true, can I be in a community college for a year, and then transfer to a UC or private?

Does anyone know the requirements for a couple of community colleges? Currently looking into RCC and CCSF.
