I received an invitation to apply for ACE. Program looks great, fast-track to honors it looks like. Looking through past years’ threads, it looks like no one gets rejected. Does anyone know how selective the program really is? How many kids received applications? How many of those that filled it out get accepted? Thanks!
Those essays are a doozy!
I didn’t think they were too bad. I have a “hook” (in a way) that fits really with IU, so the Why Kelley was a breeze.
I know they aim for about 100 enrolled ACE students. I don’t know how many people get the application though. I was in ACE last year, so let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for the response. How hard is it to get the 3.7 needed to move directly into business honors? I’m assuming it’s pretty manageable for those in ACE. Also, how beneficial is business honors when applying to the consulting/IB/WM workshops later on? Thanks so much.
Getting a 3.7 is very doable, especially if you have the numbers to be in ACE. The majority of ACE students last year made it to business honors. I have a 3.97 right now, and I only got an A- in business presentations because I’m not very good at public speaking. There aren’t many classes at Kelley that are extremely easy, but all of them are possible to get an A if you put in some effort.
Business honors helps your resume but is definitely not required for the workshops. I don’t think it would drastically improve your chances, but it might help a little.
