Can anyone tell me anything about XU?

I’m from Texas and have only really had my sights set on UT and A&M. I hadn’t considered any private or out of state schools until I met someone today who told me about Xavier. She told me that her daughter got a HUGE scholarship to go there but she turned it down to go to A&M. Nonetheless, I was intrigued. I went onto their website immediately and started reading about the school and how to apply.

How hard is it to get into this university? I didn’t see any stats on acceptance rates. I am 13/362 in my class which puts me into the top 4%. My SAT score is 1340 (new) but that was my first try without practicing and I am planning on taking it again. I have been in the top 10% of my class my entire high school career. I am also involved in some different clubs and honor societies at school (Serteens, Rho Kappa, Mu Alpha Theta, Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica, and I am planning on joining NHS this year). I haven’t had any leadership positions in any of these however, so I don’t know if that will effect anything or not. I was also notified by my school a few weeks ago that I am a Rotary Scholar because I am in the top 5% of my class. Also, I decided not to take an extremely rigorous course load this year after finding out that my school did not offer several AP classes that I had planned on taking. The AP classes I am taking are AP English 4, AP Government & Economics, and AP Calculus AB. In addition to that I am taking aquatic science (I took two AP sciences my junior year) and have an office aide period and a teacher’s aide period.

So, now that I have just dumped my entire high school career into one paragraph… how does it look? I know that a lot of people get scholarships and money from Xavier when they receive their acceptances, do I have a shot at getting a decent scholarship? I have a Texas Tomorrow Fund which covers my tuition for any state school in Texas so in order to seriously consider attending Xavier I would need a somewhat generous scholarship.

Thanks for any information or input you have!
