hey guys, I'm a senior this year and i would really like to attend SDSU. Right now, my GPA is a 3.5 and i got a 1100 on the SAT's excluding the writing part. I will take the SAT's again so i could have a chance of getting a better score which i think i will. Throughout my highschool years, I've tooken mostly honors classes and i also do sports. Do you guys think i have a good chance of getting in? SDSU is my number one choice and i will be heartbroken if i dont get in. Please respond back! THANKS!

"You will be admitted if you meet SDSU's competitive eligibility index criteria for applicants outside of SDSU's service area. For fall 2006, the average eligibility index of admitted freshmen who met the selective criteria was 4,010 (967 if based on ACT). The average high school grade point average was 3.61. The average SAT Reasoning Test total score was 1,125; the average ACT composite score was 24. The eligibility index for fall 2007 may be higher."

Your eligibility index is 3900, so you are just below their average admit...However you have a really great shot. I think you will get in.

Do you live in San Diego County, bc if you do that makes a huge difference?

Thank you! i do not live in the san diego county area..but i live in SOCAL about an hours drive away from the county. So do you really think i have a good shot even though im lower than the average limit? =. Also, does being in alot of honors classes throughout highschool help when applying here? THANKS!

Yah you definately have a good chance. You have to remember that score is the average and you are only 100 pts. below. I personally wouldn't worry about it, and I think you'll get in, but I'm not an expert.

But Good Luck Anyways

You'll get in, don't worry.

Don't worry, I have two friends that are starting there this semester and they both got in with 3.3-3.4 gpa and 1020-1050 on the new SAT. They both had to take the placement tests. I think that gpa average is the average that was accepted overall and not the average that is attending. I know that I used SDSU as a safety along with my friends who had similar stats and my gpa was a 3.98 and 1250 SAT but we are attending UC'S. Our school's average accepted was a 3.4.

The Average was a 3.5 and around a 1100 on the SAT's, which means that many people scored higher than those marks and many people scored lower. You'll probably get in, assuming the application pool isn't stronger this year. They did have to reject like 30,000 kids last year.
