Can class count towards subject area and writing requirement?

<p>In UCSB's general education requirements, it says that
"once you have matriculated at UCSB, the writing requirement may be met only with designated UCSB General Education courses. Six courses are required."</p>

<p>Can a class, say Comm 1, apply to Area D as well as the writing requirement?
Or do we need to take specific courses that can only be applied to the writing requirement?</p>

<p>yes it applies to area D as well as the writing requirement for engr major ( its under the general info for each course in GOLD )</p>

<p>I suppose business econ is College of L&S, so yes it applies</p>

<p>L&S : Area D - Social Sciences<br>
L&S : Area WRT - Writing</p>
