can CSULB revoke my admission for 2 D's my senior year ?? I already payed for enrollment, soar orientation, and housing deposit though!

@juice
My son was in a similar position for entering for fall, but he had one D in one semester. They still accepted him as his gpa did not get affected too drastically. He was nervous to call up there and ask, but there was no need to be because they were extremely nice about it. The best thing to do is give your transcript time to get up there and then call admissions. When you say you’re calling about the transcript grades they will switch to an enrollment specialist who can better evaluate your whole package. Calling is way better than stressing out about it.

yea i’m pretty nervous about it too juice. ucr kicked me out for a D in my senior year. just make sure you still register for classes at your cc for a backup. i didn’t do that when i got kicked out and i only got 3 classes for my cc.

You should be fine as long as there is no drastic change in your GPA.

well my average gpa a-g classes from soph year to senior is 2.9. it use to be 3.0. i just checked my csulb account and it updated and said i needed to take the english placement test. does this mean they received my transcript and that im still ok if i just take the test?

No. You have to take the English placement test because you didn’t score a high enough score on the English part of the SAT/ACT. You need to score high enough on the English Placement test in order to take college level English. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t though. However, you’ll be forced to take a pre-Baccalaureate English course. This remedial course wouldn’t count for your graduation requirements, but it would be mandatory to take before you can take college level English. Try your best to get your GPA up, and do well on this exam. Good luck! :]

i can’t raise my gpa because its my high school final transcript. i am a freshmen at a cc. i was just wondering if i am still ok to go to long beach. they already accepted me.

If they want you to take the test, then it sounds like you’re in.

alright i hope so. right now im not sure if i want to pay the 400 dollars deposit for housing. maybe i will wait another week. i mean 400 dollars is alot just for the deposit. lol. hey juice do you have to take the ept test?

I’m pretty sure they’ll give you a refund if, by any chance, you are not accepted.

man i am so nervous. also turntile did u take 15 units per semester to get 60 transferable credits? i only got 6 my first semester because i was kicked out of ucr and didn’t have time to register at a cc. 2 years to transfer is pretty hard, i should’ve got more classes.

Well considering you’re at a CC already, I think they will be more understanding. They’ll send you information later on with dates on when to take the EPT.

yea i signed up for it on December 4. so gotta wait till that day. hopefully i am still in. i really do not want to continue at my cc. none of my friends go to a cc =(.

@Scottie: I transferred from CSU Pomona and took 16 quarter units each quarter (Fall, winter, spring, summer)

For some reason some of my GEs didn’t transfer so I need to contact them to see what’s up with my transcript =\ I REALLY don’t want to retake my science courses because that was hell…

Oh and I am SO happy that CSULB is on a semester system, though that means I’m graduating a little late than others…

I think it’s because quarter courses are harder to convert to semester courses for credit.

@scottie, i did send my high school transcripts and i guess they got em because they also updated mycsulb, they said i need to take the english placement test also. so i hope im in, i just have to take the ept.

yea me too. hopefully we both are in. which housing are you gonna dorm at?

@Power: Yep, that’s true. I just hope they’ll be able to sort out the credits so I’ll be on track for graduation (2012 or 2013)

just checked my csulb account and it said i needed to sent in high school transcripts which i already did. looks like i still may be kicked out. =(

@Scottie: They most likely processed your transcript but didn’t update MyCSULB. I would call Enrollment Services first thing tomorrow morning to see if you’re still accepted.
