Can daughter ad "additional statement" essay for RD schools after submitting apps for EA schools?

My daughter plans to apply to a few RD schools after finishing her EA schools today. She did not submit an “additional statement” for her EA schools (most of which are state schools with fairly arbitrary admissions standards.)

Several of her RD schools are more competitive and she feels she could flesh our her application a bit better by adding an additional statement. Can she still do that once she has submitted her Common App for her EA schools?

She can’t fix the ones she already submitted. She can add to it for her RD but I would advise against it. Unless she has some circumstances that negatively impacted her in high school (citizenship, medical problems, overseas school, etc) she shouldn’t write in the additional statement box. That’s typically reserved for students who have been home-bound or have experiences outside of the normal high school experience.
