Can FSU give me a second chance?

I applied in late October this year to FSU hoping to get in but two weeks ago they came out and told me that I was deffered. They even told me to go to a community college next door. But I really want to get into FSU. When I sent my application to FSU, this is what I included......
3.9 unweighted or 4.6 weighted
1370 sat
No act
Only 15 volunteer hours on my transcript
So I understand why I didn't get in. But this month I turned in 200 volunteer hours, I took the sat again and got a 1490 and I took the act and got a 23. Do I still have a second chance? What should I do from here?

They suggested you go to a local Community College? Unheard of. Anyways, if you have taken the SAT more than 3 times and the highest score you got was a 1490 it really won’t go up anymore without extensive practice. Your GPA is great for FSU but your 1490 SAT is really killing you. The average over there is about a 1800. The 23 ACT is loads better than any of your SAT scores. If you can, try taking it again. And then, try sending that ACT to them (if they will willingly accept).

Match if you send the ACT to them.

Try a test-optional school on top of FSU.

Do you have any other ECs, perhaps some leadership? As everybody else has sad, those test scores are killing your chances, if you have time you should retake…

I do have extracurricular activities. Just the problem is the test scores. It sucks that I have to settle for community college because of a lousy test day

You don’t necessarily have to go to community college, you just might not end up at FSU. If you apply to test optional colleges you should be fine, your GPA is strong and your ECs are decent.

Do you know any test optional schools in Florida? Or one that would accept me?

So I will admit I don’t know too much about colleges in Florida. But I looked a a list of test optional colleges and found that in Florida there is Beacon College, Carlos Albizu University, Chipola College, City College, Daytona State College, Edison State College, Edward Waters College, Everest University, Everglades University, Florida Memorial University, Florida Naional University, Florida State College, Full Sail University, Hodges University, Indian River State College, Jones College, Keiser University, Lake-Sumter State College, Miami-Dade College, Northwest Florida State College, Rollins College, Saint Leo College, Saint Thomas University, and even more (I got sick of typing), as you can see there ar pleanty of schools. Though if you are willing to look at schools outside of Florida you could get into some better test optional schools. Here is a link to all the test optional schools.
