I’m a highschool junior from the East Coast. Some of my achievements include 2016 USAMO, 2015 USAJMO, AMC 10 Perfect Score, AIME(12) and AIME:144. Is this good enough?
I had a friend that was an MIT admit this year. She attended MOP several times, won gold medals at international mathematics competitions, and presented a research project at MIT the fall of her senior year.
90% of domestic USAMO qualifier get accepted to MIT according to past statistics (it’s posted on some quora). If you’re MOP attendant, then you’re almost certain to get into MIT unless you make a huge mistake.
Overall, if you’re a solid applicant and there is nothing holding you back (such as bad GPA, etc.) and express a genuine interest in mathematics, then you’ll probably be fine.
@eM1neM I’m sure you have good potential at MIT. Remember to keep your grades up, take the required tests and get good letters of recommendation.
Fwiw, I made USAMO with an 11 on AIME and lower AMC 12 score (I’m a senior at MIT) - as long as the rest of your application is solid, you should have a good shot.
