Can I actually get off a waitlist if there is a time conflict?

I'm currently enrolled in a 10-11am class and am waitlisted on another 10-11am class. I actually want to get into the latter class, but will I be able to clear the waitlist when both classes are scheduled at the same time? That is, do I have to drop the 10-11am class I'm currently enrolled in to be allowed to get off the waitlist for the other 10-11am class?

I noticed my position on the waitlist hasn't changed at all this weekend, which is why I'm asking. I'm fairly high on the waitlist (#8 for 300+ class) so I thought it was weird I had not gotten in yet.

Telebears doesn’t prevent you from enrolling in classes that take place at the same time, so I don’t think there’s any reason it would prevent you from getting off of a waitlist.

if it is a manual waitlist, then they may be clearing it by department, major, seniority of the students or other factors, not by position.

When does the waitlist auto-update anyways? I’ve been waiting all weekend to be officially enrolled in a class…

From [Tutorial - Tele-BEARS - Office Of The Registrar](http://registrar.berkeley.edu/current_students/registration_enrollment/tutor_telebears.html)

Automatic waiting lists are processed each weekend during Phases I and II and nightly from the start of the Adjustment Period through the end of the 3rd week of instruction. Students on automatic waiting lists are enrolled sequentially, provided there is space available.

Nightly including weekends? I’ve also been waiting all weekend to be officially enrolled in a class that I’m very high on the automatic waitlist on.
