Can I Afford CSULB?

Household Income: $120k
Instate
Non-Local (I am living in The Valley.)
I plan to live in a dorm.
Unemployed; I plan on getting a part-time job on campus.
No scholarship(s) have been awarded.

Do you think my family can afford this CSU? With me unemployed? With me employed (part time)?

Your financial aid is mostly based on your parents’ income. If you didn’t work, they are not going to punish you because you did or didn’t work.

Did you apply for a Cal Grant?

You may or may not qualify for state funding. Check with your GC and ask about the Blue and Gold Scholarship, and the MC Scholarship.

Did you run the Net Price Calculator so see an estimate of your costs? What is your families FASFA EFC?

I forgot my EFC but I know it was pretty high. I got nothing

If your EFC is high, above the tuition costs of the CSU’s ($7600), you will get no need based aid.

What is your parents income? This link shows the income limits for Cal Grants: http://www.csac.ca.gov/facts/2017-18_income_and_asset_ceilings.pdf
