Can I Afford to Study Abroad

I'm of junior status and pull in around $15,000 in debt each year of college. At this point, I have not held a job, therefore, I have not contributed to paying for college (but will pay when I get got). My parents have been paying the required amounts up through now however, we are not a wealthy family, and I often see the stress my mom goes through paying for college when the bills are due. So far, paying for college has been manageable. But, this year however, my brother will be attending a college that will incur a debt around $22,000 year.

I have looked heavily into study abroad programs and have decided that I want to study abroad in the UK. The tuition I would pay over there matches my current schools through an exchange program so my tuition will stay the same. My concern, however, is daily expenses and travel given the weak dollar to the pound.

I'm working this Fall to save money for studying abroad. I have also found out through my study abroad advisor, that I can get a permit to allow me to work up to 20hrs a week. Therefore, I'd work part-time at the College in the UK.

Would I be better off staying at my current school and working the entire year at the same job part-time and help pay off the college debt.

or

Work in the fall at a local part-time job. Do the study abroad, and work over there part-time?

*I believe if I make under a certain amount, I won't be held responsible in paying an income tax in the UK. Though I will be paying for universal health care I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.
