I am currently attending community college; however, I am interested in applying to 4-year schools (especially Berkeley) as a freshman rather than as a transfer student. Is this allowed?

Would I still be able to send my college transcript (not for credit, but for admission)?

I'm sorry if this is a very stupid question, but I honestly have next to no idea what I am doing with this whole college admissions process.

Er, sorry to ask another silly question, but where it says that “transfer admission is limited to students who have or will have completed a minimum of 60 UC-transferable semester units by the end of the spring term of the current academic year,” do you know if AP scores can be included in this?

There is someone in one of my math classes who (unless I misunderstood) transferred after one year of community college. Hopefully someone else knows more about this subject, but if not I might be able to talk to him again to see what I can find out.

if you can get enough units during high school and your first year at CC, you might be able to apply as a transfer, though this means you won’t really have a sophomore year

I am not quite sure but I think it’s possible. A lot of HS students who already completed 4-12 classes in community colleges and universities apply as freshmen.

No. I actually tried doing this after I went to a CSU for part of my first fall semester and then dropped out because I HATED it. I was rejected because I already had college credits. Five years later, I did finally transfer into Berkeley though, and it was so worth it :D

If you have any college credits, you have to apply as a transfer or not at all. If you fraudulently apply as a freshman, they will find out, and they will kick you out.
