school 1’s ED deadline is nov 1, and decisions are released mid-december. school 2’s ED ii deadline is jan 4, and decisions are released mid-february. would it be possible for me to apply to both despite the fact that, technically, i can only apply to one school ED? the important thing here imo is that i’d know whether or not i was accepted by school 1 before the deadline for school 2’s ed ii… so i would never have an ED application sent to two colleges simultaneously.
Apply ED II after you get a rejection or deferral from your ED school.
You can apply to an EDII school if you are denied or deferred from your EDI school. You can’t apply to an EDII school until you have a decision from the EDI school.
If you are accepted to your EDI school, you are bound to go, and must withdraw all other apps (and can’t send out new apps).
@Mwfan1921 @TomSrOfBoston okay, thank you! i just wanted to double check. both schools are incredibly competitive, so i’m not really “counting” on getting into either, but i’m trying to use EDs to boost my chances as much as possible
Yes, that is the point of ED2. You are only allowed to apply to one ED school in the same round----ED1 and ED2 are considered different ED rounds as they occur after each other. However, make sure to not submit your ED2 application until after you hear back from your ED1 school.
