<p>Helloo :D
Okay so I just graduated from an international school in Japan.
I want to apply to Columbia GS for 2014 Fall!
But I did apply to Columbia this January and got rejected.
Does that mean that I can't apply to GS?
Is there any way I could possibly apply? I really want to apply to GS :(</p>
<p>You can re-apply. But, be aware that the application asks whether and when you applied to the school before, so Columbia will know about your recent rejection.</p>
<p>Have a look at the bottom of the “Applying to GS” page on the GS website:
[Applying</a> to GS | General Studies](<a href=“http://gs.columbia.edu/applying-gs]Applying”>http://gs.columbia.edu/applying-gs)</p>
<p>You must wait 3 years after having been rejected from any other undergraduate college at Columbia before becoming eligible to apply to GS.</p>
<p>I am looking to go attend college for my first time. I graduated high school in 1997, and have never attended any courses for college credits. I have had a pretty successful professional life, working in upper management in manufacturing and in high volume restaurants here in Manhattan.
I plan on first starting off at the Borough of Manhattan Community College this Spring to get my feet wet in higher education, and attend through summer full time all the while. I then intend on transferring into the best school I can be accepted at, saying this, will me going to a college then directly applying to CUGS disqualify me? Or does is the one year break already “served” by me taking 16 years off after high school?
Thanks for your time!</p>

<p>Your time between high school and community college satisfies the rule about the break. Shoot me a private message if you’d like to strategize more about things. I was right where you are now about five or six years ago.</p>
<p>Good luck!</p>
<p>@kamilleparkiee as MusaeumClausum stated it does say if you were rejected from the other undergraduate schools you need to wait 3 years before you are allowed to apply at GS</p>
