Can I apply to HEOP?

I'm thinking of attempting to transfer to Columbia (I know that if I tried, my chances would be nearly nonexistent). I go to SUNY Binghamton now, but I got in through regular admission, not EOP. I am, however, extremely poor, and I think I heard that Columbia has HEOP. Is this true? Can I apply to this program as a transfer student? Does applying HEOP have any effect on your chances of getting in, or does it only help you out with the FA?

Thanks! :D

you cannot apply to the program, you apply and you are automatically considered for the program. though i believe if you transfer you have to transfer from another opportunity program. and if your question is FA, columbia pretty much gives you the same FA support. HEOP is special because it is a full experience for students who need it. but not every low-income student is a heop student, and so it is selective just for kids who are appropriate for the program.

You have to be in heop at your current school to transfer to columbia heop
