I have a 3.62/4 non weighted gpa. I have taken one honors class. (I started Italian 2 freshman year. In senior year I am taking my fifth year, AP Italian). The weighted GPA is 3.66.
I have received two student of the month awards which around 20 students in my school win every month. (My school size is around 2000). I go to a top 7 high school in Illinois. (public)
I got a 22 on the Act which I will try to retake. I have not done many extracurricular activities. I did a little volunteering though. I also won a student of the year award in my human geography class. Also, does U of I superscore the ACT? I was thinking of majoring in astronomy (maybe)

UIUC: Reach (aim for 27+)

Is UIC a problem for you?

is uic a good school? Also, if U of I did superscore, I might be at a 24 on the ACT. Do you not think I can get in?

The 25% line on the ACT for UIUC is 26. I know UIUC is a big school, and that hundreds of matriculants attend UIUC while having sub-26 ACT scores (class size is 7,000+ at UIUC), but many of the sub-26 matriculants are athletes or, perhaps, legacies.

Can anyone shed some light on UI-to-UI transfers? Do UIUC favor transfer applicants from UIC or UIS?

What about the University of Indiana? or Bradley?

You got to Highland Park High School?
Anywho, I’d try to improve the ACT score (maybe buy a test prep book from them). The ECs might be a problem though.

you do need much higher score for UIUC. The 25% for less competitive program is 25, but 31 for engineering.

IUB: High match
Bradley: Low match

For UIUC, you apply directly to a specific major. So the admission stat varies a lot depending on your intended major.

The University of Illinois campuses do favor transfers from other campuses. They get second priority. First priority go to current students at the campus but are currently attending another college. To give you perspective, 50th percentile at UIC for ACT score is a 24.
