I’m a Canadian citizen studying in an American curriculum school in Saudi Arabia, and I want to apply to university of Toronto
my GPA is 4.1 out of a 4.3 scale and my SAT is 1230 - 660 in math and 580 in english
I did 2 SAT subject math and bio and got 600 in both
U of T has SAT minimums to be considered. You need 630 on each section. In addition. 2 subject tests with minimum of 600 or AP tests with a minimum of 3’s are required.
You’ll need to bring your SAT score up for consideration. If you want to be admitted to engineering, computer science or commerce, you’ll need to bring them up to 700+.
@bouders great info. If one has all above 630 except for the Subject test Lit which is 550, could that prevent admission? Even from a rigorous private US highschool with solid grades? Curious your opinion. thanks
@momcollege1 It will depend on the faculty and admission category. If your student is applying to one of the more competitive programs, like engineering, computer science, commerce and life science, it may be a disqualifier. They should probably take a science or math AP or Subject test in any case for one of those. If they’re applying to humanities and social sciences, a 550 in the Lit Subject test may be a problem because Lit would be relevant to their planned studies. If they’re applying to physical and mathematical sciences, they may likely let that slide if the math related scores are good. In sum, I’d find another SAT subject test or AP test to replace that 550.
