Can I bring storage furniture to my dorm?

I want to buy this
http://www.pbteen.com/products/display-it-storage-mirror/?pkey=e%7Cstorage%2Bmirror%7C38%7Cbest%7C0%7C1%7C24%7C%7C2&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-Bottom_Marketing_Rule

for my dorm room. I have ADD and I have something similar (but I need a new one) and this is really helpful for organisation and etc. I mean, technically it's just a mirror and boxes. Right? And we're allowed to have those.
I will be at the Polytechnic campus.

Also. Can I bring my own desk chair or are those provided?

Not sure if Poly dorms have different rules, but for NYU main dorms, that would not be allowed. You can only bring furniture that is foldable, or stuff like that (folding chairs, etc). Desk chairs are provided.

Thank you! Is there anything you might suggest for OCD level storage then?

Anything you can put under your bed is great. Plus you can use bed risers/loft your bed for extra space under there. Something like that shelving unit that runs horizontally would probably be just fine

I think the rule is you can’t bring anything upholstered and you can’t bring anything that’s too big for you to carry on your own. I had a plastic drawer on wheels thing that no one ever said anything about.

something like this http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-3-Drawer-Medium-Cart-Arctic-White-Set-of-2/3385116
