Hi guys,
I applied to Penn State DUS back in October and my application is still under review. My stats are pretty borderline and I was told that undecided would give me the best chance of getting in. I also said I would be willing to do summer session, to get the best possible chance of admission. But the more I think about it, the more I know I really want the school of Communications. Can I change from DUS to communications at this point? And if so, do you think it's a good idea if that's what I really want, or should I stick with DUS and try to change to communications later (if I get accepted, that is, ha ha.) I guess my two main questions are, 1) how much harder is it to get into Penn State as a communications major than undecided, and 2) how hard is it to get into the school of communications later on if I'm not a direct admit? Thanks so much for your help!!

Don’t switch – there’s no reason to. You can declare a tentative major that will guide DUS in your scheduling choices your freshman year, and COMM is not unrealistically difficult to enter later (although Film requires a portfolio and PR/Advertising are controlledand high gpa majors). Your overall chance for admission as a borderline stat student is much higher as a DUS admit. Don’t panic! Thousands of DUS students come every year and it all works out.

thank you! I really appreciate it.
