I responded to the question on FAFSA.ed.gov asking whether my parents filed their 2012 income taxes or not, and i put "Will File," then put in estimates based on their 2011 1040 income tax file. So, do i submit the FAFSA application now with the estimates, or do i wait and submit it after my parents' 2012 income taxes are filed? Can i change my financial information using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool after I submit my application if i submit it now as it is?

You could submit your FAFSA now with estimated tax information.

Two weeks after your parent/you e-filed your tax returns, you may submit your FAFSA again. This time you would use the DRT to correct your tax information.

Once you use DRT to provide your tax information on FAFSA, the tax information are consider verified. No further verification from school is required.

fantastic, thank you so much!

My parents will not have the income tax on hand until mid feb. it’s okay to make changes around that time too right?
