Can I change my major after submitting?

Is there any way I can change my major for UCB after submitting? I applied as an Econ major but after seeing that I'll only need a business class to fulfill prereqs for Haas, I want to be a Business major instead. I can take the business class in the spring which means I will also have to change my planned courses.

Or should I stay an econ major since it's less competitive so higher chance of getting in? Is the difference that big between econ and business at Berkeley? I get the impression that that Haas is like a brand name and separate entity.

I don’t see anywhere that says you can change anything (except contact info) after submitting. Creating another application for UCB Haas with different major + ed plan + personal statement seems like a possibility, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Calling their office to ask for a major change might hurt your application since they’ll know you are unsure about what you want to do.
I think you should just stick to Econ. You can apply for a major change after getting into UCB (although very unlikely they’ll let you do that), or you can take Biz as a minor, or pursue grad school in Biz.

I called UCB a while back and they said no but I don’t think they understood my question. I asked if I would be able to change into Haas if a class was going to be offered in the Spring (the schedule has yet to come out).

Anyways, according to this, you cannot:

Haas may be different because the applications are separate but I would say that it isn’t possible.
