Can I change my major from economics into business

First of all, I just got admit by the UIUC this coming spring semester, and my intended major is economics.
But right now, I just want to switch my major from economics to business.
Actually, I have already achieved all pre-req business courses from my ex-college, and my question is if I gotta switch my major to business, do I need to apply the B-school of UIUC again, is it possible for me to switch it? And is it comparative at all?

My current GPA is around 3.23, and I have almost 90 credit hours from my course works

Pls help me out

Thank you

From what I know, I do not believe you can. You can of course call the admissions office and formally ask but unquestionably it will not be easy. I heard a counselor yell, well not yell but get annoyed, at another student who wanted to switch from engineering to business. She said flat out "no" they will not let you do that, but that's just what I heard. You should put it into perspective, you get into U of I. through like some so-so program, say art, and end up trying to switch to one of U. of I.'s best programs, business. Obviously there is something a bit wrong with this and the college would notice. If it was possible, I'm sure many people would be doing what you are trying to do.
