Can I Change My Schedule?

I went to orientation a little over a week over and registered for classes there, but now I am beginning to regret one of the classes I signed up for. Is it possible for me to change my schedule?

Yes…just call the school and see, even though I am sure you can do it online.

When I try to edit my classes online it says that I “do not have a valid enrollment appointment at this time” and I do not have an advisor assigned to me so I am not sure who to connect about making a change.

just keep the class but never show up

@cuitee8 Students have a window of opportunity to drop or switch a class during the first few weeks of school. My son did this last Fall. I am not sure of the process. Ohio State has an email askabuckeye@osu.edu for asking questions. I used this email last year and someone from the school will be back to you with answer to your question within 48 hours.it was very helpful. Also on the website first page of Future Students there is a future Buckeyes Ask OSU where you can type in questions 24/7 and get an immediate canned response.

Do not listen to sizzlracn. In college, if you register for a class and never show up, you’re charged for it and if you don’t drop it by the deadline you get an F.
Check the schedule to see if the class you plan to take fits in with your schedule (typically you’d have 3 class meetings or labs on MWF and 2 on TTh).

Sure. Call your advisor

The opening to change your classes via your adviser opens August 1st. You must contact your adviser to make any changes to your schedule as a freshman throughout your ENTIRE first semester. (Don’t worry, after this first semester you’ll be able to add and drop classes on your own.) DO NOT follow the advice given above. Call or email your adviser and tell them you want to drop the class. (Also, be prepared with an alternate class, if possible. They try to keep all first semester freshman at 15/16 hours coming in. If you don’t have one, it’s fine, they’ll still help you!)
