Can I choose between sending the SAT or ACT scores?

Hi, guys!!
I’ve taken the SAT twice and haven’t done so well (2090 the first time and haven’t gotten the second test’s results, but probably did around the same) and I was wondering if I could choose between sending my SAT scores in or my ACT scores. I haven’t taken the ACT yet, but I’ve done a lot better on practice tests for the ACT than I have on practice tests for the SAT. I’m aiming/reaching for schools like Brown or Cornell and was wondering if I /have/ to send my SAT scores in!

Thanks so much!

Each school has a requirement which tells you what they expect. Some schools say either SAT or ACT, some say send us every test you have ever taken and others say if you send us subject tests but have also taken SAT you need to send SAT even if you want to submit ACT with subject tests.

So you have to read the rules provided by each school.

For the following you must provide both all your SATs and ACTs: Georgetown, Stanford and Penn (for all three of those subject tests are optional). For Duke, which accepts ACT in lieu of both the SAT and subject tests, you can submit just all ACTs, but if you submit any subject tests you must also submit all SATs. Otherwise, there appears to be no college that requires you to submit both SATs and ACTs. Brown has no all scores rule and you can submit whatever you want. Cornell requires either all SATs or all ACTs, plus all subject tests
