Your grades are great but you should get that ACT higher. Your ecs are good but they’re nof amazing. Don’t worry about that though. If you have good essays and your ACT is higher, you should be competitive. Good luck!

If you’re interested in competing in Track and Field and your stats are in line with typical DIII athletes, you should look into recruiting. That’s why I applied EA.

And I can confidently say that essays are particularly important at UChicago. It was the most writing I had to do for any application, and I’d say I wrote most of them fairly well because I was fortunate enough to receive a Merit Scholarship. Compared to other applicants, I didn’t have stellar grades or standardized test scores, and they don’t give athletic scholarships either.

As some people mentioned, you might want to work on your ACT. Though, your stellar grades may offset the downside of the ACT–this is especially true if your high school is well-regarded. Essays are a huge part of the application, so I would suggest getting started as soon as you can (I started writing my main common app essays about this time of year).

Also, if you think you would do well, I would strongly suggest setting up an interview (preferably on-campus, if possible). I had a wonderful experience with mine, and I am convinced that it played a large role in my acceptance. Good luck! :)
