Yes, I should have mentioned the JC option. If you do keep appealing and you don’t get in, which is likely, and you appeal 5+ times, odds are that the admissions people will remember you if and when you go the JC route and apply as a transfer. Alienating admissions is bad. It might work, but if it doesn’t, it may seriously hurt later on. So do the nuclear appeal option at your own risk.

I don’t think that the JC option is that bad.

im a little curious about the appealing process now, never done it myself but i thought it would be like a somewhat general process like everyone who want to appeal resubmit forms and stuff then they look at those people and gave out the final decision… or is it everyone on their own to write to the school and get individual answers? and you can do it as many times as you want?

For UCLA, you have to write them a letter outlining the reasons why they should reconsider your rejection. You can include up to two letters of recommendation. The acceptance rate is “historically very low.”

I would imagine that at some point, admissions would simply tell you to stop appealing, but that didn’t stop the berkeley-bound senior I knew.

Note: The person that I’m talking about (the one who appealed six times and was finally accepted) was notorious for being a stubborn ****. I imagine he just wore them down with his incessant demands and aggressiveness.

You can also transfer between UC’s. I’ve seen it happen. It’s known for being really unfair and random, but it can be done.

Again, thank you everyone, especially SdB, for your thoughtful repsponses. Of course no one can be certain of the admissions’ decisions, but I simply wanted others’ opinions. If I am not accepted through an appeal letter, I plan to attend a cc.

“Don’t people all have their dream schools that they really really want to go and have been collectin the schools info for years thinking that they would be there someday and can’t imagine themselves in any other place then that school? I don’t know about other people but I know I do…” @ThomasJefferson
You are basically saying that she should not appeal for admissions because if EVERYBODY has their “dream school”, than obviously everybody cannot get into it.

I think you should appeal but not just mention your previous circumstances but also mention what you can do in the future as well.

^ “mention[ing] what you can do in the future as well” would be purely speculation, and would get you nowhere. you appeal to PROVE that you are worthy of being in the school.
