Can I do anything more to have a better chance of being accepted to the USAFA

Currently I’m a sophomore in high school and i am very interested in the USAFA. I have a GPA of 3.9. I am involved in both Cross Country Running and Track and Field and will be the Head Captain for Cross Country my junior and senior year. I am taking all advanced classes and will be taking calculus next year (junior year). I am also involved in student government at my school as well. I am just wondering if there is anything at all that would put me above the other applicants, such as volunteering to be a red kettle bell ringer for the salvation army, or something like that. Also I am a second degree black belt, and i don’t know if that helps, but if it does…

Thanks A lot. All help is appreciated!

Being Captain of the Cross Country is big. USAFA likes to see leadership roles. Volunteering as a red kettle bell ringer could only help your application. Right now you look good. Just don’t slack off in school and keep getting those good grades.

You’re off to a great start…keep up the grades, continue running, and do well on the SAT or ACT.

Thanks a lot!

I would also encourage you to apply to summer seminar this time next year.

When should I contact my congressman and senator about a nomination?

Summer between junior and senior year. Most MOC have info regarding nominations on their websites.

when my coach signs off on my CFA’s should i submitt them when i submitt my application, or after the questionaire. During junior or senior year? or when exactly. Thanks agian.
