Hi! I am a 12th grade student from India, and I would like to do my undergrad from the US. I however did not perform very well in the SAT. I got a score of 1940 (yes I know it's execrable) , but hey, I managed to get this score without actually giving a fully timed practice test before the actual SAT. I did not know about the breaks and did not practice the essay properly. I was getting decent scores of above 700 in both writing and reading, and I could not believe when I saw my score. I was EXTREMELY nervous throughout the test and maybe, this affected my score tremendously. My weakest section is writing and I am trying to improve in that section the most.... I am getting close to a 700 in barron's reading and 800 in maths. I took the SAT subjects too. I got 800 physics, 800 maths(lvl 2) and a 780 in chemistry(2380 total). Do you think that now that I fully know the format of the SAT, I can improve my score to something like a 2200...(considering I have practiced from barron AND the blue book)?
I lived in Texas vefore coming to India. After seeing the water problems in the sewage, and water scarcity in my neighborhood I formed a local organization and contacted a senior NGO to help us out. I lead and inducted more students from the neighborhood schools to help us. After going through some adversities, we were successful. The NGO thanked me and my friends for our support and inducted us. I got a 9.6 CBSE grade points in 10th grade and a 96.8(AP Board) in 11th grade. What do you think of me? Do I have a shot?

You sure do have a shot! Stop doubting yourself and get on with practicing! Practice practice practice for your SATs and tell the admissiosn officers about your accomplishments. Nobody here has the right to judge you. I posted a stupid chance thread a while ago and I now realize I did it out of insecurity and the need of reassurance. Onlyy you can reassure yourself! Good luck!
