Thanks for looking at this. I am undecided about my major right now but would just like an idea of where I stand in the admissions process.

r u human or single… you definitely have a chance at brown

You’ve definitely accomplished a lot! But it’s still going to be tough to get into Brown. I think the application committee is going to be looking for a lot of character. The way you’ve laid it out, your main strengths are

Your grades

The clubs you’ve created

Cross country

Piano

I don’t want to downplay the work you’ve put into your studies. You’ve done a lot, and I think it’s all exceptional. But you’re going to have to have something that really jumps out as being different. Because there’s a lot of kids across the country who are very successful at Cross Country. And there are also kids out there who exceptional musicians – with great grades to boot. Moreover, there are also people out there who have devoted themselves to a volunteering group, have organized meaningful charities and have made a quantifiable impact on their communities.

I’m saying (to you and all the other chance threads) that you’ve still got a lot of work ahead of you. As a junior, you still have time. So good luck! I’m sure things will work out in your favor.

Thanks for the detailed comment! Great advice. Yes, I would really like to compete more in Piano this year and get some good marks to add to the application.
