I am currently a business major, but would like to double major in International Relations with a minor in foriegn language (as is required for the IR major). Is it possible to do that?
Yes! but it will require good scheduling and if you want to do it in four years you will need to either take summer classes/take 18 credit hours alot or come in with credit from AP tests or transfer credit. During orientation talk with your academic adviser and they can help you plan it. Your survey class will also give you that opportunity.
Yup! I’m currently a business major with two specializations, and I plan on adding at least one minor. As a freshman, I came in with 38 credits, which meant that I only needed to take 5 more general education classes. I have taken all of those classes during my first year, which frees up my schedule for the second specialization and minor. Depending on how many credits you came in with, you may not even need to take 18 hours (18 hours is the maximum number of credits you can take without having to pay extra.) It will definitely take a lot of planning though, so be sure to talk to your adviser because they can help you plan it out! Also, it doesn’t hurt to do some research on your own.
What is your planned specialization for business? (Lol just asking because I’m curious. Obviously you don’t HAVE to answer if you aren’t comfortable with it.)
